Epic Releases Round-Ups & Creator's Choice
On April 13th, 2022, Epic made a somewhat surprise announcement in the Fortnite Creative Discord. The announcement posted by Epic Staff: StillGreenGirl, stated that and I summarize, due to the success of the hosted callouts, they will be initiating more opportunities to shine a spotlight on Fortnite Creative Creators! With the announcement they introduced Round-ups and Creator's Choice, which will provide two new ways to get your maps promoted within the amazing Fortnite Creative Community and more!
Let's go over them one by one!
ROUND-UPS
Round-ups allow creators to create content within a specific game genre, for instance like parkour or boxfights! It will have a specific row in Discovery, where content that is most relevant would push its way to the top! The big difference between Roundups and Callouts is that it will not be handpicked by Epic Staff, but rather based upon the Discover algorithm. Submitting your map to Discovery is all you need to do! Your map will be shown in this category, based upon the algorithm!
FIRST CALL FOR ROUND-UPS: PARKOUR
The first call for round ups start today! Start submitting your best parkour maps to discovery! If you already have one, make a fresh update and resubmit! Get it in the algorithm and good luck to you! Hope to see you there!
CREATORS CHOICE
With creator's choice, featured creators have the opportunity to vote on map creations created by other members of the community!
The initial release will only allow creators who have been featured before to participate, until further notice. Up to 3 islands can be nominated for each category, widening the possibility to be chosen. Once nominations have been decided, voting will take place within the Fortnite Creative Discord with a voting window for only 24 hours. Featured creators will have the chance to vote for islands that they feel represent high quality content!
Here is an important outtake in regards to how the finals selections will be chosen:
"Once an island has gained enough nominations, creators will be able to vote on their favorites to be featured in-game. The selected islands will be promoted to a section in Discover after review. "

Meaning that even if an island makes it all the way through nominations to having the most votes, the final decision will be made by Epic once the island is reviewed! If your island passes review, you will see it featured in the Creator's Choice Category!

From what I see, it appears that little by little Epic is placing that power of choice into the community's hands! These opportunities will provide all creators small and big alike the opportunities to shine!
